#2 On our List: SHEVEY WALKS IT OFF vs NIXA

The Falcons are known as the Chiefs arch rival, but when Nixa and Kickapoo meet on the diamond, both teams know it’s a must win game. Last season brought a moment the players and fans will not soon forget. Nixa vs Kickapoo, Mitchell vs McKinnis, An Arkansas commit vs a Mizzou commit. It did not disappoint. Nixa scored two runs early. Rhett Hendricks answered with a solo shot off the score board in the second to cut the lead to 1 run. It would remain that way into the bottom of the seventh inning thanks to good defense and the two star pitchers from both sides. Carter Vienhage would lead off the seventh with a clutch base hit, followed by a walk. With the winning run at first, the speedy sophomore Landon Keisker was called on to pinch run. That brought Senior Boone Shevey to the plate. No stranger to big moments, Shevey delivered a ball off the right field wall that would allow Keisker to score from first and give the Chiefs their second big walk-off win of the season. A moment worthy of the #2 spot in our 2021 Top 5 and surly a top 10 moment in Kickapoo baseball history.
